My (kind of) Harry Potter Trivia

HALO Readers~
Let me tell you .
I am a huge fan of Harry Potter! Seriously!
Harry Potter movies were my childhood-to-teenager life theme . I never missed to watch it on movie theater . But I'm not that kind of fan who likes to collect any HP merchandises . I only own all its 8 movies, 5 novels from the 3rd one to last (because I had watched the first 2 installments then I felt if I read the 1st and 2nd book after that then it would be useless), some free posters from magazines and an imitation of Voldemort's magic wand ;)

I was re-watching the whole HP movies again and still getting the same feeling like when I was first watching it . They never fail to amaze me . Every scenes was important to me and I even thought what should I wore, with my own clothes, if I were Hermione hahaha lol . They were, are and always will be my favorite movies of all time ^^v

So these are my kind of HP trivia, which is made from my point of view . This trivia points are made in no particular order .
  • I found it was a sexy young-adult voice Daniel Radcliffe had in the 'Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secret', hehe .
  • Always remember Bonnie Wright's first line on Harry Potter, and it was 'Good luck' (my future hubby... - if I can add it lolol) .
  • Hermione Granger only wore casual costume once  in the 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', it was when she accompanied Harry and Ron looked for the stone . And also once in the 'Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secret', when she was in the Diagon Alley .
  • I liked how Mr. Weasley's react when his wife told him that three of his sons flew the flying car over Surrey to free Harry . "Did you really?.... How'd it go?" lololol .
  • I thought it was a clever idea when Harry mis-pronounced "DIAGON ALLEY' became 'DIAGONALLY'!
  • Both the first and second movie were directed by same director, Chris Columbus, and I felt he made it darker, gloomy, witch-ish than any other directors after him .
  • "Celebrity is as celebrity does." - Gilderoy Lockhart in the 'Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secret' .
  • Still wondering how the audience made a 'fast climb' to watch the Quidditch match in those high spectator seat . Especially when Hermione moved from her seat to Snape who jinxed Harry in the 'Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone' . Snape's seat obviously across from Hermione's .
  • Vipera Evanesca was the prettiest charm in my opinion . I could possibly imagine if it was someone's name . (Mrs. Evanesca?? | Just call me Vipera ^^)
  • 'Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban' was the first one who seemed much more enlighten and not-so-dark feeling anymore with that Buckbeak the Hippogriff,  Boggart, Prof Trelawney's classroom and the day-outdoor scenes . Finally I could imagine clearly how was Hagrid's hut looked like .
  • In the 'Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban', it was Seamus Finnigan stood behind Ron Weasley when they were making line at Lupin's Boggart class . But he 'vanished' as Parvati was the one who was called after Ron .
  • From 4 directors of Harry Potter, I like Alfonso Cuaron with his 'Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban' the most . In 3rd installment there was many new things created for the movie, and I liked these things = Dementors, Buckbeak, the Boggart scene, the time turner scene and the Marauder's Map! Too bad Cuaron didn't continue into the next series .
  • Marauder's Map was the most creative thing in Harry Potter . I wish I can have it for real!
  • In the movie, neither Lupin or Sirius told the truth to Harry about the Marauder's Map, which was their invention along with James and Peter .
  • I really like the boys' 70's-Beatles-ish hairstyle in the 'Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire' .
  • The 4th installment movie released when I was in Junior High and I remembered that time I was in love with RobPatz hahaha and there were one of my friends who was admiring Viktor Krum . No school days left without talking about them that time!
  • I can't imagine if the Quidditch World Cup is real!
  • I couldn't hide my 'disappointment' when the actress who played Cho was being announced officially to public . Well, knowing she would be Harry's 1st gf so I think it was not only me who had this kind of thought hahaha lol!
  • Yule Ball seemed fun .
  • With the main plot story on the Triwizard tournament with those extremely magical sets and scenes, director Mike Newell visualized them very very very well . But again, unfortunately he didn't continue to work on the next installment .
  • I wish I have my own Pensieve so I can re-watch all of my unforgettable memories in my life haha .
  • 'Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix' has the most ear-catching orchestra scoring soundtrack in my opinion . I never paid attention into any musical instruments like the scoring as back sound out of the movies before, but I had to admit that the HP5 scoring music was amazing . Best of the best from all other HP OSTs . From the 'Flight of The Order of The Phoenix', 'Professor Umbridge' to my most favorite one, 'The Firework'! Thanks to Nicholas Hooper!
  • Always have 'goosebumps' every time watching the Weasley scene on 'Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix' . Love the visualisation, the music, the act, all!
  • I really hate Prof. Umbridge character for real until few months after watching the movie for the first time . Imelda Staunton played her role very well and not to mention her character which reminded me with one of my 'beloved' teacher in high school hohoho .
  • Three of my favorite senior actresses in Harry Potter series were Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton and Emma Thompson . And there were a scene when Prof Trelawney was fired by Umbridge in the hall watched by all students and then Prof McGonagall came to comfort Prof Trelawney . I liked it because all those three actresses were my favorite, inside and outside the HP series .
  • According to Ministry of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, Sirius' real name was 'the notorius-mass-murderer-Sirius-Black' .
  • As how the HP5's soundtrack sounded good but when it came to the battle of death eaters vs the order of the phoenix members until the battle of Dumbledore vs Voldemort, there was no music at all . Which was good because the audience could focus watching the scenes and that was why I realized the death scene of Sirius was sooo fast, just right after he said a compliment to Harry (whom he accidentally mis-caught as James -- "nice one James!") .
  • The death of Dumbledore is the most emotional scene I ever felt in this movie series T_T .
  • In the 'Harry Potter and The Half-blood Prince', Prof Snape finally got his dream came true to teach The Defense Against The Dark Arts class . But unfortunately no Snape's teaching scene out in the movie!
  • 'Harry Potter and The Half-blood Prince' turned into more drama and dilemma .
  • The first kiss scene of Harry and Cho? Yeah . I hate it hahahaha .
  • It was painful seeing Hermione use the Memory Charm to her parents . Making yourself never exist .
  • In the book, Cho was told that she was older than Harry . But in the movie she turned to be at the same age with Harry . Because we could see her in the last battle, she was still there as a Hogwarts student .
  • Even though the last book already splitted into 2 parts, it still wasn't telling all stories into the scenes . Like, no scene revealed that Potter family was the descendants of Ignotus Peverell, whose in the book was told to be the one of three brothers who tried to deceive death and got invisible cloak as a gift from death . That was why Harry got the invisible cloak from his father, because Ignotus inherited the cloak to his son and he inherited to the next descendants . The story about Grindelwald was also not being told enough . I was quite dissatisfied with the last movie because of these . In the book, the story of how the 'deathly hallows' was actually real became my favorite . It was sooo clever to think about those complicated plot . Rowling was (and is) indeed genius .
Well, that's all from me . If among the readers are also HP fan, please let me know which scenes you like/hate/confusing/upsetting/memorable the most below in the comment . Or maybe just some opinions you wanna share to me about Harry Potter :)

おひさしぶりです.. #JAPPOST

Hello readers, I'm BACK!! Woohooo..

This post will be very special because I decided to put something new into my blog . Yep, an article! Not just a usual article, the article I post contains information from my favorite country after Indonesia (haha). It's Japan . I will use the hash tag #JAPPOST for any article related to Japan that I post here . So for you who like to read some trivia from this country, you can now find it here on my blog . And not just stop right there, I need you who read this post to make your own point of view or statement after you read the article . It will be started with my own opinion of course, then you can share what you thought below on the comment box . Come on read this article and let's start the discussion!
PS : In case you are asking, this article is made by "someone" who knows Japan very well ;)

40% of Japanese University Students Don’t Read Book

I want to ask the university students, how long do you spend time to read book in one day? I guess you spend much time to prepare for classes or to enjoy studying of what you are interesting of. The truth is, for me, I think books are one of the must important items for university students like us.
However, some of Japanese students apparently don’t agree with my opinion. According to the co-op of universities in Japan, 40% of Japanese university students answered “0” when they asked about the length of the time they spent to read book in one day. The co-op asked this kind of question to 30 national and private universities students. Overall, the average answer is 26.9 minutes. People sometimes say Japanese university students don’t study hard, but I guess this result lets many Japanese people to realize more about it again.
According to “YOMIURI ONLINE”, an online-based news which is managed by Yomiuri shimbun, one of the most famous newspaper companies in Japan, co-op of university said “it’s the rank of reading books as amusement and culture that falls among society nowadays, that’s because students thought they could get information easily just by their smart phones. And books became the target of saving money.”
“Saving money” is the most important problem among many university students all over the world. Maybe you will surprise as I say that Japanese students are in the difficult situation about money especially. According to Benesse, which is one of the most popular educational service companies, the expense of a national university student is ¥535,800 each year, which means ¥2,143,200 for four years in college. In private university, the expense depends on its major, but the average is about ¥3,600,000 - ¥5,000,000 for four years. Moreover, students who live alone (in a college dorm or apartment) need more money for their living expenses.
The lack of non-refundable scholarships distress Japanese students more. It’s really difficult to get. According to the research of Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), 52.5% of undergraduates make a scholarship leasing of JASSO, universities and so on. Many students use the scholarship of JASSO because it’s easy to get, but JASSO actually doesn’t provide non-refundable scholarship. So, in the future students have to pay the scholarship money they took before. Even some students should pay back the money with some interest included.
In short, Japanese university students have difficult financial problem. However, in my opinion, that's what makes reading book becomes important. You know there are many libraries where the students can lend books without buying them, right? From there, their reading time will increase and from books they may pass selection in a job hunting then get good job. Even so, if their grades improve because of studying hard by reading books, they may get non-refundable scholarships too somewhere. Well above all, the best advantage of reading books is that we will get much more knowledge to enrich our life.
So, just go to a book store before saying reading books isn’t interesting. I’m sure you can find books which match with your interests or hobbies. Let’s start to read books!! ^^v

 =========.========.========

Ok guys, does it sound similar with what happen with us here in Indonesia? We, as university students, also have to save our money and sometimes we spend money more for our living expenses like eat, “kost” (for the students who come from other cities) and internet, beside the college tuition fees. We do spend money on entertainment or leisure activities too like holiday, watching movies on theatre with friends, watching concert, jalan-jalan and buying stuff. But, is book already become part of our compulsory academic consumption or just another entertainment addition?
Personally, I love reading. I started to read anything (yep, literally anything caught my eyes) when I was around 3 or 4 years old. Then I continued with reading kids magazines called “BOBO” (yeaaayyyy..), manga and story books. Until now, I still read these 2 kind of books : magazine and story book, which now turns into a novel or fiction. The problem in the article above is more into why the university students seem “lazy” to buy and read books everyday, even though they know the advantages of reading books. Frankly, I also not so often to buy educational books or literatures related to  my major or any general knowledge books. Some of my friends also do the same. I think if the books don’t have such an urgency to be read (like, in this time, we read more books to help maintain our thesis or final research), university students feel that they don’t have to buy it.  Or maybe if the books only have a short term advantages, like its only for helping the literature study of their research, and wont be read again in the future, they don’t have to buy too. Lend from university’s library is enough J.
So, it can be said that money for books is mostly being spent into “entertainment” kind of book, such as magazines, novel, fiction, non-fiction story, motivational book, tabloid, manga and so on. And the total money the students spend for buying those kind of books is different from one to another. For me, because I live with my parents, I also read newspaper almost everyday. Why almost? Because if I don’t have time to read, I browse news online hehehe. Like nowadays, I like following some international newspaper online. Not only to know the news globally from all over the world, but I also learn English from reading it. Sometimes I browse for international TV program too to improve my English listening skill. You can also try to do it ya ;)
Here I give you links to some of the online newspapers and international TV program that I usually read, listen and watch :D

Hello dear..
Really . It has been loooong time since my last post in August yaa?! So sorry :(
Hectic-ness attacked . And I felt I changed so much within a year . Wanna know why?

2013 I spent with .... TRAVELING!

YAP, INDEED!

It all started when I spent a whole month of February by doing practical research work in a tea plantation in CIWIDEY, WEST JAVA . Then back to Jogja for just 1 week before I departed to MATSUYAMA, JAPAN and stayed there for 3 weeks on March to participate in SUIJI program . After that, on July-August I moved to WEST NUSA TENGGARA to join the spectacular and the most fascinating moment of this year, KKN! Its held by my university and I worked in the field (plus, of course, took a trip to the one and only GILI TRAWANGAN, SENGGIGI, SIRE, MATARAM, TELUK NARE etc) for 2 months there with 27 un-describe-able people I ever met, lol . Back from KKN, I didn't go home straight to Jogja but had my 4-days-and-3-nights holiday in BALI! Not long after the new semester began, on last September my beloved boyfriend, Makoto, visited me . He came far away (approximately 3234 miles, google said) from MATSUYAMA, JAPAN (yes, I met him when I was there on March hehe) . With him, together we went to MALANG, EAST JAVA and SOLO, CENTRAL JAVA . He also attended my cousin's wedding on October before he went home to Japan again . What a memorable 15 days I spent with my FIRST boyfriend in my life . Just in case you wanna know, when I was in Matsuyama, we both still 'friends' so his visitation in Indonesia was the 1st time we spent as couple! hohohoho... :p
The traveling story of 2013 doesn't stop there . Because in the beginning of December, me and the army of Agro-industrial Technology students class of 2010 took a field trip to PASURUAN, EAST JAVA and BALI (again, for me haha) . We're in our senior year so it's so rare for us to spend time altogether . However I already considered this classmates as my families too . And start from this year (2014) maybe one by one will finish their study here and graduate :")

That's it! I hope I still have a chance to traveling again in this year . Hope God will let me meet a lot more of new friends . Bunch already waited to be met in the end of February hohoho . I cant wait to see where God will take my life to . And on top of that, I just wanna be a better person than last year . Because I learned a lot about life in 2013 . So, 2014, go surprise me!! *crossing fingers*

Once again,

AKEMASHITE OMEDETOU!

KKN : What A Life!

Nothing can describe my KKN life . It was once in a lifetime experience and yeaaah, I was happy being a part of it . Even though,  there were lots of slacks and problems between each personnel, but, the essence of KKN and the chemistry of living together for almost 2 months absolutely left mark on the journey of my life . It wasn't only just a learning method, but it also helped creating a better me in the future . What can I say? Such a precious and one of the greatest moments of my college life~ At least,  I have more than enough of memorable stories to tell to my kids someday, like my mom always told me before about her amazing KKN life :) Thank God!

Here it is, a short memoir that I made during my days in KKN . Fyi, I was living in TELUK KOMBAL, PEMENANG BARAT, WEST NUSA TENGGARA . It was located in the eastern of Bali and there were many tourism spots especially beautiful beaches which offered not only the adorable panoramas but also the hidden secret of tranquility life.. Enjoy..

A TAPED MEMOIR OF TELUK KOMBAL

It's full of hopes, it's full of dreams
It's far from strange, it's one of a kind
as far as the eyes can see..

Call me pathetic,
I let you "boo" at me,
One thing should be confessed,
this far place echoes a sound of family,
and hard work,
and friendship,
and love..

Little deeper I see,
little deeper I feel,
yet, speechlessly it goes out
shame on me if I'm not telling...

that my Teluk Kombal is whispering..

Rainbow may disappear,
after the sun stops portraying
to the raindrops that falling

Shout out to the butterflies, who fly and fly,
far away to the sky
Look for once, but please not a glance..

that my Teluk Kombal records the same

Yes, it's full of hopes,
yes it's full of dreams
Definitely far from strange,
Infinitely one of a kind..

my Teluk Kombal says "Hi" and the story will never END

as far as the eyes can see..

How's your KKN life guys??? *wink*
